Cabinet SKU Codes Explained: B12 to WBC3042, Every Brand

|By , Founder
Kitchen cabinets laid out by code for an order, with wall, base and tall cabinets in place

Cabinet SKU codes put the cabinet type in letters and the size in inches: width first, then height, then depth when it differs from standard. B12 is a base cabinet 12 inches wide, W3030 is a wall cabinet 30 wide and 30 high, and WBC3042 is a wall blind corner 30 wide and 42 high. Below are the prefixes, suffixes and trim codes from the five brands we sell, where each brand breaks the pattern, and a sample quote read line by line.

The Pattern Behind Every Cabinet Code

Fabuwood, Jarlin, Kitchen Cabinet Distributors (KCD), CNC Cabinetry and Eurocraft all build codes the same way. Letters name the cabinet type. The first two digits are the width in inches. On wall and tall cabinets, the next two digits are the height. A third number only appears when the depth changes from standard.

Base cabinets skip the height because it rarely changes. That is why a base code can be as short as B18 while a wall cabinet needs four digits, as in W3036 (30 inches wide, 36 inches high). Fabuwood and Jarlin give narrow widths a leading zero (W0930 is 9 wide and 30 high), while KCD and Eurocraft write the same cabinet as W930.

Cabinet family Standard height Standard depth Where a book differs
Base 34-1/2 inches 24 inches Illume bases are 30 inches high before the feet
Wall In the code, usually 12 to 42 inches 12 inches Illume, Ovela and Eurocraft walls are 13 inches deep
Tall (pantry, oven) In the code, usually 84, 90 or 96 inches 24 inches Fabuwood Allure, Illume and Ovela add 93; CNC Cabinetry talls come 21 or 24 deep
Vanity 34-1/2 inches 21 inches Illume vanities are 30 inches high

For every width and height by brand, see our kitchen cabinet sizes guide.

How the Numbers Encode Width, Height and Depth

  • Two digits: width only. B18 is 18 inches wide and SB36 is 36. Height and depth are the book's standard.
  • Four digits: width, then height. W3036 is 30 wide and 36 high. W3630 is 36 wide and 30 high, and both are real cabinets in the Fabuwood and Jarlin books, so a swapped pair of digits still ships a cabinet. It ships the wrong one.
  • Six digits: width, height, depth. W361224 is 36 wide, 12 high and 24 deep, a common cabinet over a refrigerator.
  • Tall cabinets change the order. Fabuwood pantries read width, depth, height: TP182490 is 18 wide, 24 deep and 90 high. Eurocraft reads width, height, depth: TP189624 is 18 wide, 96 high and 24 deep. Jarlin adds depth only when it changes, so WP2490 is 24 wide and 90 high.
  • Decimals, X and slashes. Jarlin writes half inches as a decimal: OC31.590 is 31-1/2 wide and 90 high. CNC Cabinetry puts an X before the depth or height on deep and tall pieces: 3012X24 is 30 wide, 12 high, 24 deep, and UC1824X84 is 18 wide, 24 deep, 84 high. A slash on a blind base gives the wall space it can pull to, not the box width.

Suffixes: The Letters After the Numbers

Suffixes set the door, drawer and hinge details, and they are where brands disagree most.

  • L and R set the hinge side on single door cabinets or the blind side on corners. CNC writes LS36R and Eurocraft writes WBC3630L. Fabuwood codes such as W2430SD leave it off, so note the side on the order.
  • FD and FH mean a full height door with no top drawer: B18FD on Fabuwood, B30FD on Eurocraft, B30-FH-POS2 on CNC and the -FH bases on KCD.
  • SD, -1 and -2 handle the door count on 24 inch cabinets, and each brand does it differently. Fabuwood W2430SD is the single door version. Eurocraft W2430-1 is the single door, so its plain W2430 has two. KCD B24-2 is the two door version.
  • -2, -3 and -4 on drawer bases count drawers: DB18-3, DB24-4. In Allure a plain DB is already three drawers, and a CNC DB24 is a three drawer base too.
  • POS, POD and ROD are pull-outs. CNC uses POS for a pull out shelf and POD for a pull out drawer, with the count after it (POS2). The Fabuwood glossary lists ROD as a roll out drawer.
  • DL and DR put vanity drawers on the left or right: Jarlin FA3021DL, Fabuwood VSD36DR. The Value Premium book notes the combo cannot be reversed once assembled.
  • Brand extras. Fabuwood uses -34 for 34-1/2 inch vanities (VSB36-34), LU for a lift-up wall (W421224LU) and -12D for a 12 inch deep base (B24FD-12D). CNC adds FL, FR or F2 for finished sides and SDF for a single drawer front (B36-SDF).

Fabuwood blind bases give a pull range

Fabuwood is our premium line, with the most door styles, finishes and modifications we carry. Blind bases come as a pair: BLB36/39, BLB39/42, BLB42/45 and BLB48/51. The Allure chart shows the BLB42/45 box at 39 inches, needing at least 42 inches of wall, with a filler on the adjacent side that is ordered separately. The Allure book also prints a two-page SKU glossary (pages 120 and 121) that decodes every prefix. Keep the Fabuwood Allure spec book guide and Fabuwood price list open together.

Jarlin puts the hinge side in the code

On our site, Jarlin single door cabinets are listed with L or R, so B12L and B12R are separate items. Jarlin also marks with a dot which doors offer each code, so a code can be in the book and still not come in your door. See the Jarlin spec book guide and the Jarlin price list, or shop every door on our Jarlin cabinets page.

KCD blind bases are narrower than the code

In the KCD book, BB36 is 30 inches wide and BB42 is 36 inches wide, while BB48 is a true 48. KCD says to set the blind side of a BB36 or BB42 6 to 9 inches from the adjacent wall and to add at least a 3 inch filler, which is not included. The KCD spec book guide and KCD price list cover every code.

CNC Cabinetry walls have no letters

CNC wall cabinets are numbers only. 3030 is 30 wide and 30 high, and 2430X24 is 24 wide, 30 high and 24 deep. Read the CNC Cabinetry spec book guide and the CNC price list with the collections on our CNC Cabinetry page.

Eurocraft puts details up front

Eurocraft codes lead with details other brands add at the end. A three drawer base is 3DB18. Blind bases carry the side inside the code: BBCR42 is blind on the right, BBCL42 on the left, and BBCFL42 adds a fly moon turnout. The Eurocraft spec book guide covers the rest.

Moldings, Fillers and Panel Codes

Fillers read like cabinets: letters, width, then height. WF342 is a wall filler 3 inches wide and 42 high, TF396 is a tall filler 3 by 96, and BF3 is a 3 inch base filler. KCD and CNC Cabinetry drop the first letter and write F396. Moldings are sold by length, and many codes end in 8 for 8 feet: TK8, CM8, LRM8, TKS8.

Part Fabuwood Allure Jarlin KCD CNC Cabinetry
Crown molding CM-1, CM-3, CM-8 and others CM8 CM8, RCM8, SCM8 CRM
Light rail LRM TLR8-1 LRM8, LRMT8 LTRM
Toe kick TK8 TK8 TKS8 TKS
Scribe SM8-S, SM8-D SM8 SCRIBE SCM
Fillers BF3, WF342, TF396 BF3, WF330, WF396 F342, F396, F696 F330, F342, F396
Refrigerator or tall panel REP2496 RRP96 TEP3096 REP396
Dishwasher panel DWR3 DWP DWR3 DWR3

Two notes save a second shipment. Allure base and tall cabinets come with a 3/4 inch plywood toe kick attached, and the matching 1/4 inch toe kick cover (TK8) is ordered separately. Blind corners in Fabuwood and KCD ship without the filler they need. Our guide to fillers, panels and toe kicks walks through what a complete order includes.

Worked Example: Reading a Quote Line by Line

Here is a short Fabuwood Allure list for one L-shaped corner and a refrigerator wall, with 42 inch uppers. Each line reads left to right.

Line Code Qty How to read it
1 WBC3042 1 Wall blind corner, 30 wide, 42 high. Mark blind left or right.
2 W3042 2 Wall cabinet, 30 wide, 42 high, double door.
3 W1542 1 Wall cabinet, 15 wide, 42 high, single door. Note the hinge side.
4 W362424 1 Over the refrigerator: 36 wide, 24 high, 24 deep.
5 BLB42/45 1 Blind base, 39 inch box, needs 42 inches of wall. Mark the side.
6 SB36 1 Sink base, 36 wide, 34-1/2 high, 24 deep.
7 DB18-4 1 Drawer base, 18 wide, four drawers.
8 B18 1 Base, 18 wide, one door under a top drawer. Note the hinge side.
9 WF342 2 Wall fillers, 3 wide by 42 high.
10 BF3 1 Base filler, 3 inches wide.
11 REP2496 2 Refrigerator end panels, 24 deep by 96 high.
12 TK8 2 Toe kick cover, 8 foot lengths.
13 CM-1 3 Crown molding, 8 foot lengths.

Lines 1, 3, 5 and 8 each need a side noted, and both blind corners have their fillers (lines 9 and 10). Before ordering, match the cabinet count to your drawing and check three widths against your measurements.

Common Mistakes When Reading Cabinet Codes

  • Swapping width and height. W3036 and W3630 are both real cabinets. Width always comes first.
  • Leaving off the side. Single door cabinets and blind corners need L or R, in the code or on the order.
  • Planning by the code instead of the box. Blind bases and tall pantries are where this bites. Use the actual width and the digit order from the book.
  • Carrying one brand's suffix to another. SD is a single door on Fabuwood, while SDF on CNC is a single drawer front. A -2 on a KCD B24-2 means two doors, and on an Illume DB24-2 it means two drawers. WR is a wine rack in Ovela and a refrigerator wall cabinet in Eurocraft.
  • Using a vanity code in a kitchen. Vanities are 21 inches deep and kitchen bases are 24, so VSB30 and SB30 are not interchangeable.
  • Forgetting the trim. Fillers, toe kick, panels and molding are separate lines.

When a code on your list does not match this guide, the brand's own book is the final word. Every current book is on our spec books page, and you can order door samples to see a finish in your own light before you commit.

What does WBC3042 mean on a cabinet quote?

WBC3042 is a wall blind corner cabinet 30 inches wide and 42 inches high, at the standard wall depth (12 inches in Fabuwood Allure). The blind side tucks behind the cabinet on the adjoining wall, so you choose blind left or right when ordering and add a filler on the adjacent side, which is ordered separately.

What does B12L mean?

B12L is a base cabinet 12 inches wide with its door hinged on the left. Base codes skip the height and depth because standard bases are 34-1/2 inches high and 24 inches deep. On our site, Jarlin single door bases come as separate L and R items, so pick the side that lets the door open away from the nearest wall.

Are cabinet SKU codes the same across brands?

The pattern is shared: letters for the type, then width, height and depth in inches. The details are not. CNC Cabinetry writes wall cabinets as numbers only (3030), Eurocraft puts the drawer count first (3DB18), and KCD blind bases are narrower than their codes. Check each code against the book for the brand you are ordering.

Why is a blind corner base smaller than its code?

Blind base codes describe the wall space the cabinet fills once it is pulled out from the corner, not the box itself. A KCD BB42 is 36 inches wide, and a Fabuwood Allure BLB42/45 box is 39 inches wide and needs at least 42 inches of wall. A filler closes the gap, so add one to the order.

Can you check my cabinet list before I order?

Yes. Send us your list or your measurements and we will check every code, hinge side, filler and blind corner clearance, then send an itemized quote. Starting from scratch? Our free 3D kitchen design turns your measurements into a complete list by code, and we will match or beat a written quote for the same cabinets.
