Shopping for a kitchen online works best when you know what separates one cabinet line from another. We carry Fabuwood, Jarlin, Eurocraft and CNC Cabinetry, and between them a range of construction formats, door styles and price points. This page is the map: what each brand is made of, which format suits which project, and how to get from a rough idea to an itemized cabinet list without guesswork.
Who Shop Kitchen Cabinets Online Suits Best
Buying factory-direct suits a homeowner who wants to see prices openly, cabinet by cabinet, and build a kitchen to the exact sizes their room calls for. There is no package to buy into and no minimum order, so a single vanity and a full kitchen are handled the same way.
It also suits anyone working with a contractor or doing the install themselves. Every cabinet is listed with its own size and price, so a builder can price a layout precisely, and a homeowner can compare two finishes without recalculating the whole job. If you would rather not build the list at all, our design team will do it from your measurements at no cost.
The main thing worth doing before you order is deciding which construction format you want. It is a bigger decision than color, it affects how the finished kitchen works day to day, and it narrows the choice down helpfully.
How This Line Compares
The clearest dividing line across everything we sell is framed against frameless.
A framed cabinet has a solid wood face frame across the front of the box. This is the traditional American construction. It gives a very solid front edge for the doors to hang from, and the frame narrows the opening slightly on each side. Fabuwood Allure, Fabuwood Quest, Fabuwood Value Premium and Jarlin are all built this way.
A frameless cabinet has no face frame at all, which means the door covers the whole opening and you reach the full width of the box. It is the European format, it gives marginally more usable interior, and it puts more work on the hinges, since there is no frame edge to sit a door against. Fabuwood Illume, Fabuwood Ovela and Eurocraft are frameless.
From there, the brands sit alongside each other rather than in a ranking. Fabuwood gives you the broadest spread of door styles and finishes across several lines and price points. Jarlin concentrates on shaker and raised panel doors in both assembled and flat-packed formats. Eurocraft is a frameless plywood-box line. Which one is right depends entirely on which of the specifications below matters most to your project.
Inside the Cabinet
Here is what each line is actually made of. Every specification comes from the manufacturer's own book.
- Fabuwood Allure is the painted and stained shaker line and our most-ordered. Plywood box, solid wood face frame, solid wood dovetail drawer boxes, Blum Compact Clip hinges and Blum Tandem plus Blumotion runners. Door styles run from a 5/16 inch Echo frame up to a 3 1/4 inch Nexus frame.
- Fabuwood Ovela is the frameless plywood line: 3/4 inch plywood sides, top and bottom, a grooved back and a veneer interior, with 5/8 inch solid wood dovetail drawers on a 3/8 inch plywood bottom. It is the line for buyers who want frameless and all-plywood together.
- Fabuwood Illume is frameless on 3/4 inch Engineered Furniture Board with a White Linen interior, using BLUM MERIVOBOX metal drawer boxes rated to a 75 lb dynamic load. It carries the widest color palette we sell, including high-gloss finishes no other line offers.
- Fabuwood Quest is a plywood box with a solid wood face frame in a contemporary slab door, at a lower price point than Allure. Fabuwood Value Premium is the budget framed shaker, also on a plywood box.
- Jarlin is framed on 1/2 inch plywood with a 3/4 by 1 1/2 inch hardwood face frame that is double doweled, and dovetail drawers with 5/8 inch solid wood sides and no finger joints.
- Eurocraft is frameless on a 3/4 inch plywood box with a white melamine interior and a 1/4 inch plywood back. Its doors are engineered wood or MDF at a nominal 3/4 inch rather than solid wood, and the drawer box is either double-wall metal or solid wood dovetail depending on the configuration.
If you want a neutral grounding in how cabinet construction is tested and rated across the industry, the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association publishes the performance standards the trade works to.
Colors and Finishes to Consider
Once the construction is settled, the finish is where the room gets its character, and each brand brings something different to that decision.
Fabuwood Allure covers painted and stained shaker finishes across a wide spread of whites, grays, blues, greens and wood tones, which makes it the easiest place to start if you have a color in mind but no strong feeling about door width. Fabuwood Illume is the one to look at for high-gloss and for matte European colors, since those finishes are not offered elsewhere in the range. Fabuwood Quest keeps a tighter palette on a contemporary slab door, and Value Premium covers the core shaker colors at the budget end.
Jarlin runs a compact, well-chosen range: Aria Blue, Sterling Gray, Smoky Gray, Dove White, Cream White, Sandy Mirage, Toffee, Sage Green, Ebony and Soda in shaker, with Avalon, Charlton, Newport and Perla in raised panel, plus an unfinished shaker for anyone painting on site. Both Jarlin door styles are stocked in assembled and unassembled form, chosen on the cabinet's own product page rather than from separate catalogs.
Whichever direction you lean, order samples before committing a whole kitchen. Finish, sheen and undertone all read differently under your own lighting than on a screen, and a sample costs a fraction of a single cabinet.
Bringing the Room Together
Two practical choices shape the install as much as the cabinets do.
Assembled or ready to assemble. Assembled cabinets arrive built, squared, hung and adjusted, ready to go on the wall. That suits a tight install window, an installer paid by the hour, or a house with nowhere to build cabinets. Ready-to-assemble cabinets ship flat and you build them on site with the hardware included, which suits a budget-led project or genuinely difficult access, since a flat box fits through openings a built 36 inch wall cabinet will not. Jarlin unassembled cabinets take roughly 15–30 minutes each to build, and where a finish is offered both ways you pick the format on the product page. There is no quality difference between the two formats: the same materials, doors and hardware go into both.
The finishing parts. Fillers, finished end panels, moldings and toe kick are what turn a row of boxes into a fitted kitchen, and they are the items most often left off a first list. Every quote we prepare includes them so the total reflects the complete job.
Good to Know
Soft-close hinges and glides are standard across every line we carry. Lazy Susan, Easy Reach and Wall Pie Cut cabinets are supplied without the mechanism, which is worth knowing before you plan a corner.
Fabuwood Illume is the one Fabuwood line built on Engineered Furniture Board rather than plywood. Buyers who want frameless construction with an all-plywood box may be a better fit with Fabuwood Ovela or Eurocraft, and Ovela keeps solid wood dovetail drawers as well.
Dovetail drawer boxes are not universal across every line. Fabuwood Allure, Ovela and Jarlin use solid wood dovetail. Illume uses the BLUM MERIVOBOX metal system. Eurocraft supplies either a double-wall metal box or solid wood dovetail depending on the configuration.
Eurocraft doors are engineered wood or MDF rather than solid wood, on a 3/4 inch plywood box. Customers looking for solid wood doors and face frames may find Fabuwood Allure or Jarlin the better match.
Warranty and Ordering Information
Fabuwood Allure, Illume, Quest, Value Premium and Valencia currently carry Fabuwood's Limited Lifetime Warranty. Earlier purchases may fall under Fabuwood's previous Limited 5-Year Warranty instead. Jarlin cabinets are covered by Jarlin's own warranty. Full terms sit on our Fabuwood warranty and Jarlin warranty pages.
Here is the simplest way to move forward:
- Start from the look if you know the color or door style you want, then work back to the line that carries it.
- Start from the specification if framed, frameless, plywood or drawer construction is what matters, then work forward to the finishes that line offers.
- Order door samples for the two or three finishes you are weighing. Browse the door sample collection and compare them in your own kitchen light.
- Send your measurements, even rough ones, and request a free 3D design. We will return a layout and an itemized cabinet list with the total, including the fillers, panels and moldings, at no cost and with no obligation to order.
Not sure which brand suits your project? Send photos of the room along with the dimensions, tell us what matters most to you, and we will recommend a line and a finish to start from.
Shop Kitchen Cabinets Online FAQs
What is the difference between framed and frameless cabinets?
A framed cabinet has a solid wood face frame across the front of the box, the traditional American construction, and the frame narrows the opening slightly on each side. A frameless cabinet has no face frame, so the door covers the whole opening and you reach the full width of the box.
Which cabinet lines are all-plywood?
Fabuwood Allure, Ovela, Quest and Value Premium are plywood-box lines, Jarlin is built on half-inch plywood with a hardwood face frame, and Eurocraft uses a three-quarter inch plywood box. Fabuwood Illume is the exception: it uses three-quarter inch Engineered Furniture Board rather than plywood.
Which line should I choose if I want frameless and all-plywood?
Fabuwood Ovela. It is frameless on three-quarter inch plywood sides, top and bottom with a veneer interior, and it keeps solid wood dovetail drawers. Illume is frameless but uses engineered furniture board, and Eurocraft is frameless plywood but its doors are engineered wood rather than solid.
Do all the drawers have dovetail joints?
No. Fabuwood Allure, Ovela and Jarlin use solid wood dovetail drawer boxes. Fabuwood Illume uses the BLUM MERIVOBOX metal system rated to a 75 lb dynamic load. Eurocraft supplies either a double-wall metal box or solid wood dovetail depending on configuration, so dovetail is not universal there.
Which cabinets have the best warranty?
Fabuwood Allure and Illume carry a Limited Lifetime Warranty. Fabuwood Quest, Value Premium and Valencia currently carry the same Limited Lifetime Warranty. Jarlin cabinets are covered by Jarlin's own warranty.
Are Eurocraft doors solid wood?
No. Eurocraft doors are engineered wood or MDF at a nominal three-quarter inch. The box itself is three-quarter inch plywood with a white melamine interior and a quarter inch plywood back.
Should I order assembled or ready-to-assemble?
Assembled when the install window is tight, you are paying an installer by the hour, or you have nowhere to build cabinets. Ready-to-assemble when budget matters more than time, or when access is difficult, since flat boxes fit through openings a built 36 inch wall cabinet will not. Where a Jarlin finish is offered both ways, the assembly option is selected on the cabinet's own product page, so you shop one collection per finish.
Do the doors and drawers soft-close?
Yes, soft-close hinges and glides are standard across every line we carry. The one consistent exception is Lazy Susan, Easy Reach and Wall Pie Cut cabinets, which do not include the soft-close mechanism.
Where should I start if I am not sure?
If you know the look you want, start from color or door style and work back to the line. If you know the specification you want, start from construction and work forward to the finishes. Either way, order door samples before committing a whole kitchen.
Not sure which cabinets you need?
Send us your kitchen photos and dimensions and we'll recommend the right brand, line, and finish, plus a free 3D rendering and itemized cabinet quote.
