Edge pulls are small tab pulls that fasten to the back of a door or drawer front and wrap over its edge, so almost nothing shows from the front. How Edge Pulls Work and Where They Fit
An edge pull, also called a finger pull or tab pull, is a thin metal lip that screws to the back face of a door or drawer front and folds over the edge. You open the drawer by hooking your fingers under the lip instead of grabbing a handle. The cabinets look almost handle-free, which is why edge pulls are common on slab doors and European frameless cabinets.
This collection runs from short tabs with 1" hole spacing for doors up to 7-1/2" lengths for wide drawers. Finishes include chrome, aluminum, matte nickel, brushed black, satin gold, brushed champagne bronze and white, so you can make the pull disappear against the door or let a thin line of metal show. Each edge pull is from Richelieu and includes mounting screws.
How do edge pulls mount?
Edge pulls fasten from behind. The flat tab sits against the back of the door or drawer front, and short screws go into the panel without coming through the face. The lip then wraps over the edge. Because the lip is shaped to sit over a set thickness, door thickness matters. The included screws are sized for standard 3/4" fronts, so measure your fronts before you order.
Where do edge pulls go on each cabinet?
On base cabinet drawers, center the pull on the top edge. On base doors, mount it on the top edge near the corner opposite the hinge. On wall cabinets, flip it to the bottom edge so you can reach it from below. A tall pantry door can take an edge pull on the side edge opposite the hinge. Keep every pull the same distance from the corner so the rows line up.
Do edge pulls work on shaker doors?
Yes. They suit shaker doors because the pull mounts on the solid frame, not the recessed center panel. On a white shaker like Fabuwood Allure Galaxy Frost or a soft gray like Galaxy Nickel, a chrome or aluminum edge pull nearly vanishes. A satin gold pull on Galaxy Indigo or a brushed black pull on Galaxy Natural Oak shows as a thin accent line.
Edge pulls or regular pulls?
Edge pulls keep the fronts clear and do not catch on clothing, which helps in a narrow galley kitchen. They do need a small gap between stacked drawer fronts so your fingers can reach under the lip. For heavy pot drawers, a full-grip bar pull is easier to use. Many kitchens put edge pulls on the uppers and bar pulls on deep base drawers. See more in modern hardware.

What is the difference between an edge pull and a finger pull?
They are usually the same thing. "Finger pull" describes how you use it, hooking your fingers under the lip. "Edge pull" and "tab pull" describe where it mounts, on the edge of the door or drawer. Every pull in this collection mounts that way.
Do edge pulls work on 3/4" doors?
Yes. The included screws are sized for standard 3/4" doors and drawer fronts. If your fronts are thinner or thicker, check the product dimensions first, since the lip needs to sit flat over the edge.
What length edge pull fits a wide drawer?
Use the 1/3 rule as a guide. A 5" edge pull suits a 15" to 18" drawer, and a 7-1/2" length suits a 24" drawer. On drawers 30" and wider, center the longest edge pull or use two shorter ones spaced evenly.
