How This Line Compares

Two things set Eurocraft apart from most of what sits alongside it.

The first is how much the finish range covers on a single carcass. The same frameless box takes a laminate shaker front, a slim shaker, a textured wood-look slab, a high gloss slab or a super matte slab, so the room can read transitional or strictly modern with nothing changing behind the door. Standard wall cabinets are twelve inches deep, the same as most lines, with corner, bridge and lift-up wall cabinets at twenty-four inches, so check those against your plan in a galley kitchen or above a working countertop.

The second is the door material. Eurocraft doors and drawer fronts are engineered wood or MDF at 18mm, a nominal three-quarter inch. Engineered wood panels are wood fiber compressed under heat and pressure into a dense, uniform board, and because there is no grain running in one direction, the panel does not expand and contract with the seasons the way solid timber does. On a laminate, gloss, matte or flat slab front that is a real advantage: the surface stays flat, and the hairline movement that can appear where a solid panel meets its frame does not occur. It is the right material for exactly the kinds of fronts this line specializes in. The Build, Feature by Feature

• A three-quarter inch plywood box with a quarter inch plywood back panel, plus top and back support rails that keep the carcass rigid while it is being hung.
• A white melamine interior, bright and easy to wipe clean, carried through every cabinet in the run so an open or glass-fronted cabinet reads as evenly as a closed one.
• An integrated toe kick at four and a half inches high with a three inch recess, with adjustable screw legs available if you would rather level the run on legs.
• Adjustable base shelves at eighteen inches deep with full edge banding, so you can set the heights around what you actually store.
• Full-extension soft-close drawers, meaning the drawer clears the cabinet completely and the very back of it is usable rather than a place things disappear into.
• Drawer boxes in either double-wall gray metal or solid wood dovetail depending on the item. Both are sound and both run full extension with soft-close, so ask us to confirm which applies if dovetail specifically matters to you.
• Six-way adjustable fully concealed hinges with soft-close. Six-way means each hinge can be trimmed in three directions after the door is hung, which is how a frameless run ends up with dead-even gaps from one end to the other.
• Wood dowel and quick-screw assembly, which is what makes these cabinets straightforward to put together and square up on site.

Picking a Finish

The range splits into groups that behave differently once they are on a wall, and knowing which group you are in makes the shortlist much shorter.

High gloss reflects light and opens up a small or north-facing kitchen, making a color read brighter than its swatch suggests. Blanco, Cashmere, Gloss White and Gris Nube are the light options. Black, Antracita and Azul Indigo take the same treatment somewhere much bolder, and look particularly good on a base run under a pale counter. Gloss pairs best with a handle rather than a push-to-open front, since fingerprints show more readily on a reflective surface.

Matte absorbs light and gives a softer, flatter room that hides marks well. The grays run from Haze and Stratus through to Gauntlet, Basalto and Matte Gray, and they separate clearly in person while looking nearly identical on a screen. Midnight Blue and Mist Beige are the two that most often surprise people in a good way, and Matte Nautical is worth a look if you want blue with less weight than a navy.

Wood tones cover White Oak, Medium Oak, Dark Oak, Red Oak, Pecan, Como Ash, Muratti and the pale Ice Cream shades. These are the finishes to look at for warmth in a modern room, and they suit the slab and slim shaker fronts particularly well.

Designing With This Collection

Two-tone layouts are the most requested arrangement here, and the frameless format flatters them. A textured wood-look base run under matte or gloss white wall cabinets gives you warmth at hand height and light above it. The reverse also works: Dark Oak or Antracita on the wall run over a paler base makes a small kitchen feel taller.

Countertops have room to do more against a slab front. A quartz with gentle veining reads as the feature without the room becoming busy, and a plain honed surface suits the high gloss doors where the cabinets are already reflecting plenty. On the laminate shaker and slim shaker fronts, a warmer stone alongside Mist Beige makes a comfortably transitional kitchen rather than a strictly modern one.

Hardware is where you set the register. Slim bar pulls and edge pulls suit the slab doors and keep the front planar. Knobs and cup pulls belong on the shaker and slim shaker fronts, where there is a frame for them to sit against. Matte black sharpens the grays, brushed brass warms the wood tones, and stainless keeps a gloss white kitchen crisp.

Exposed cabinet ends need a three-quarter inch finished panel or a decorative door, because the side of a frameless box is not a finished surface. Budget for these wherever a run ends, turns a corner, or backs onto an island. This is the single most common item left off a first Eurocraft list, so add them at the same time as the cabinets.

Narrow reveals are part of what makes a frameless kitchen look the way it does, and the six-way hinges are there precisely so an installer can dial them in at the end. It is worth asking for that extra time.
