KCD Cabinet Warranty Information

The following summarises Kitchen Cabinet Distributors' Five Year Limited Warranty and returns policy as published by KCD. Five Year Limited Warranty

Kitchen Cabinet Distributors warrants that its products will be free from defects in workmanship and material for a period of five years from the date of shipment from its facility.

One warranty covers the whole catalog. The Premier Series (Brooklyn, Oslo and Shaker) and the Builder Series (Essential) carry the same five year term.

Who it covers

  • The original owner only. The warranty cannot be transferred to a subsequent owner.
  • Normal residential use only. Commercial installations are not covered.

What KCD will do

KCD's obligation is limited to replacing the affected cabinets or component parts, at its discretion.

The warranty does not cover assembly, installation, removal or transportation costs, labor charges, or incidental and consequential damages.

What is not covered

  • Natural variation in wood color and texture, and normal aging of the finish.
  • Door warpage up to one quarter inch, which humidity and temperature swings cause in any wood door.
  • Stress lines in a painted finish, which occur naturally on diffuse porous woods and with changes in atmospheric conditions.
  • Variation in a glazed finish. Glazing is applied by hand and is intentionally uneven.
  • Damage from improper assembly, misuse, modification, exposure to the elements, accidents or negligence.

Reporting damage

Inspect your delivery before you sign for it. Noticeable damage or a short count must be written on the bill of lading at the time of delivery.

Damage that is not a manufacturing defect must be reported within seven business days of receiving the product. Tell us as soon as you find it and we will file on your behalf.

What a claim needs

  • Photographs of the damage
  • Proof of purchase or the order number
  • A completed KCD warranty claim form

Returns

KCD accepts returns subject to a 20% restocking fee when all of the following are true:

  • The product is still unassembled, in flat pack.
  • The return is started within 60 days of receipt.
  • The product is undamaged and in its original packaging.
  • The product has not been discontinued.

Assembled cabinets, modified cabinets and discontinued items cannot be returned. Return freight is not covered.
