Are Fabuwood cabinets good quality? Short answer: yes, for what they are. Fabuwood builds factory-assembled cabinets with plywood boxes, solid-wood dovetail drawers and soft-close hardware as standard, backed by a limited lifetime warranty on most of its range, with semi-custom options available on top of the standard sizes. This guide covers what is actually inside the box, what the warranty does and does not cover, what the cabinets really cost, and where Fabuwood falls short. We sell Fabuwood as an authorized dealer, so we have also included the parts most reviews leave out.
Who Makes Fabuwood Cabinets?
Fabuwood Cabinetry Corp is a New Jersey based manufacturer that sells exclusively through authorized dealers rather than direct to the public. Cabinets are imported, then assembled and sold in the United States. The company does not operate showrooms of its own, which is why every quote you get comes from a dealer like us rather than from the factory.
The range is split into series, and the series matters more than the brand name. Allure is the largest and most popular family. Illume is the frameless European line. Ovela is the newer frameless family. Quest and Value Premium sit at the budget end. Quality is not uniform across all of them, which is the single most useful thing to understand before you buy.
Construction: What Is Actually Inside the Box
This is where a cabinet is won or lost, and where Fabuwood earns most of its reputation.
Cabinet boxes
Allure, Ovela, Quest and Value Premium use furniture-grade plywood boxes. Not particleboard, not MDF. Plywood holds screws better, survives a plumbing leak far more gracefully, and does not sag under a stone countertop over time.
Drawers
Solid wood drawer boxes with dovetail joinery, on undermount soft-close glides. Dovetails matter because a drawer is the part of a kitchen that gets abused most. Stapled or doweled drawer boxes loosen; dovetails do not.
Doors and hardware
Soft-close hinges and glides are standard on every series, not an upcharge. Finishes are multi-step factory applied, which is a meaningfully different process from a site-painted or shop-sprayed door and holds up better to kitchen moisture.
Assembly
Fabuwood ships fully assembled from a US warehouse. There is no flat pack to build. That saves considerable labor on install, and it is a real difference from RTA cabinets, which arrive as parts.
The Fabuwood Warranty, Explained Properly
This is the section most articles get wrong. Fabuwood does offer a limited lifetime warranty, but it did not arrive all at once, and which warranty applies to your kitchen depends on which series you bought and when you bought it.
| Series | Limited Lifetime Warranty applies to orders placed | Before that date |
|---|---|---|
| Allure and Illume | On or after January 26, 2023 | Limited 5-Year Warranty |
| Value Premium and Quest | On or after October 1, 2024 | Limited 5-Year Warranty |
| Valencia | On or after February 17, 2025 | Not previously in the program |
You will see other sites state flatly that Fabuwood has offered a lifetime warranty since October 2024. That date only applies to Value Premium and Quest. Allure and Illume have carried the lifetime warranty since January 2023, which matters if you are buying a used home with Fabuwood kitchen cabinets already installed and trying to work out what coverage exists.
What the warranty covers
Cabinets are warranted to the first residential purchaser against defects in material and workmanship under normal residential use, judged against Fabuwood's published Quality Standards, for as long as that purchaser owns the home.
That is genuinely strong coverage for this segment. Plenty of stock cabinet brands at similar prices still cap coverage at five years, and Fabuwood moved its own range from five year to lifetime over the past three years rather than leaving it there.
The conditions worth reading before you buy
- It is not transferable. Coverage ends when you sell the house. It does not pass to the next owner.
- Residential use only. Install Fabuwood in a rental office or a commercial space and the warranty does not apply.
- Installation voids it. Cabinets modified from their original form, improperly installed, or damaged before or during installation are not covered.
- Environment matters. Coverage does not apply in locations without year-round environmental controls, and excludes damage from moisture, humidity, excessive heat or cold. A screened porch kitchen is not covered.
- Natural wood variation is not a defect. Color, grain, mineral streaks, pinholes and knots are explicitly excluded, as is color change from UV exposure over time. Replacement doors ordered years later will not match perfectly, and that is not a warranty claim.
- It covers cabinets only. Countertops, appliances and plumbing fixtures installed with the cabinets are not included.
None of this is unusual for stock cabinetry, and Fabuwood's terms are broadly in line with the rest of the industry. It is simply better to know it now than during a claim. The full text is on our Fabuwood warranty page.
One point specific to buying from us: Jarlin and Eurocraft cabinets carry their own separate manufacturer warranties. Fabuwood's policy does not extend to them.
What Fabuwood Cabinets Actually Cost
Most reviews quote a vague figure per linear foot. Because we are a dealer, we can show you real prices for the same cabinet across the range. Below is one identical unit, a 30 inch wide by 34 1/2 inch high by 24 inch deep three drawer base cabinet, priced across every series that offers it.
| Series | Price range across finishes | Typical price | Finishes offered |
|---|---|---|---|
| Value Premium | $714.24 | $714.24 | 1 |
| Allure Galaxy | $793.73 to $1,071.53 | $952.47 | 24 |
| Illume Catalina | $790.68 to $963.77 | $963.77 | 44 |
| Ovela Catalina | $845.63 to $1,034.29 | $1,034.29 | 44 |
| Illume Tuscany | $963.77 to $1,182.81 | $1,182.81 | 21 |
| Allure Echo, Fusion, Luna, Luxe, Nexus | $928.05 to $1,252.87 | $1,252.87 | 13 to 18 each |
Two things stand out. First, the finish you choose moves the price as much as the series does: within Allure Galaxy alone the same cabinet ranges from $793.73 to $1,071.53 depending on color. Second, Galaxy is consistently the best value inside the Allure family while offering the widest finish selection, which is a large part of why it is the most popular series we sell.

Where Fabuwood Is Genuinely Good
- Plywood boxes at this price. Plenty of competitors at the same price point still ship particleboard.
- Dovetail drawers as standard, not as an upgrade tier.
- Fully assembled delivery. Meaningful labor savings, and fewer things to go wrong on site.
- Finish range. 44 finishes in Catalina alone, including gloss options most stock brands do not carry.
- Consistency between orders. Factory finishing means the cabinets you add next year will be closer to the ones you bought today than any site-finished product.
What to Know Before You Order
None of the points below are faults, and all of them apply across the stock cabinet industry rather than to Fabuwood specifically. They are simply the things worth understanding up front so your order arrives the way you pictured it.
- Match the series to the priority. Choose Allure or Ovela if plywood boxes matter most to you, Illume if you want frameless. Both are the right answer to different questions.
- Standard sizes run in three inch increments, and semi-custom is available. Most kitchens are planned around the standard sizes, using fillers, panels and toe kicks to absorb the gaps invisibly. Where a wall genuinely will not cooperate, Fabuwood offers semi-custom options. Those are quoted rather than listed online, so ask us and we will price it with your layout.
- Warranty coverage stays with you, not the house. It applies to the first residential purchaser for as long as they own the home, which is standard for the category.
- Order door samples before choosing a finish. Fabuwood sells through dealers rather than company showrooms, so samples are how you judge a color in your own kitchen light. Given that finishes vary in price by hundreds of dollars per cabinet, it is worth doing before you commit.
- Wood varies, and that is normal. Color, grain and natural movement differ between production runs on any real wood product. If you may extend the kitchen later, order spare doors with the original order so they come from the same run.
How Fabuwood Compares
Against the brands we also carry, the short version is that Fabuwood is the middle option: better built than entry-level RTA, less expensive than semi-custom. We have written the detailed comparisons separately in Fabuwood vs Jarlin and Fabuwood vs Jarlin vs Eurocraft.
If you want to judge construction quality for yourself rather than take anyone's word for it, our guide on how to judge cabinet quality covers what to look at on any brand: box material, drawer joinery, hinge quality and finish process.
So, Are Fabuwood Cabinets Good Quality?
Yes. If you want plywood boxes, dovetail drawers, soft-close hardware and a factory finish, assembled and delivered, with a lifetime warranty for as long as you own the home, Fabuwood delivers that at a price semi-custom brands cannot match. Choose Allure or Ovela if plywood construction is the priority, Illume if you want frameless, Galaxy if you want the best value inside Allure, and order samples before you commit to a finish.
If your layout has dimensions the standard sizes will not absorb, ask about the semi-custom options before assuming you need a custom shop. The one case Fabuwood is not built for is a commercial installation, which falls outside residential warranty coverage on any cabinet brand in this category.

What warranty do Fabuwood cabinets have?
A limited lifetime warranty to the first residential purchaser, for as long as that purchaser owns the home. It applies to Allure and Illume orders placed on or after January 26, 2023, Value Premium and Quest orders on or after October 1, 2024, and Valencia orders on or after February 17, 2025. Earlier orders carry a limited 5-year warranty. The coverage is not transferable to a new homeowner.
Are Fabuwood cabinets real wood?
Yes. The drawer boxes are solid wood with dovetail joinery, and the cabinet boxes are furniture-grade plywood on Allure, Ovela, Quest and Value Premium. The Illume frameless series uses engineered furniture board, chosen for its dimensional stability. If you want frameless on a plywood box, the Ovela series is built exactly that way.
Are Fabuwood cabinets particleboard?
No. Allure, Ovela, Quest and Value Premium use furniture-grade plywood boxes. Illume uses engineered furniture board, which is a denser and more dimensionally stable material than standard particleboard and is well suited to frameless construction.
Does Fabuwood offer custom sizes?
Fabuwood offers semi-custom options alongside its standard sizes. Those are quoted rather than listed online, so send us your layout and we will price the modifications with the rest of the order.
Do Fabuwood cabinets come assembled?
Yes. They ship fully assembled from a US warehouse, not flat packed.
Does the Fabuwood warranty transfer if I sell my house?
No. Coverage applies to the first residential purchaser only and ends when the home changes hands.
Which Fabuwood series is the best value?
Allure Galaxy, on our own pricing. The same 30 inch three drawer base runs a median of $952.47 in Galaxy against $1,252.87 in the other Allure series, and Galaxy offers 24 finishes.
Does Fabuwood cover natural color variation?
No. Variation in color, grain, mineral streaks, pinholes and knots is considered a natural characteristic of wood and is excluded from the warranty, as is color change from UV exposure over time.
Prices shown are current Direct Cabinet Deals retail pricing for the cabinet specified and will change with Fabuwood's price list. Warranty terms are summarized from Fabuwood Cabinetry Corp's published limited warranty; the full text governs and is available on our Fabuwood warranty page.
