The Build, Feature by Feature

The molded profile is the visible difference. Underneath, Fusion is built to the same published Allure specification as the rest of the collection.

• Mortise and tenon door joints. The traditional frame-and-panel joinery, where a tongue on one piece seats into a socket on the next. The wider 3 inch frame has the material to support it.
• All-plywood cabinet box. Wall, tall and base cabinets use 18mm (3/4 inch) select veneered plywood with matching wood veneer edge banding, which gives a strong, moisture-resistant foundation.
• Solid wood face frame. 3/4 by 1 1/2 inch stiles and rails joined with glue and dowels, with the back of the frame dovetail grooved to accept the side panels.
• Solid wood dovetail drawer boxes. 5/8 inch sides with a 3/8 inch plywood bottom. Dovetail means the corners interlock like fingers, a joint that holds square under the weight of pans and crockery.
• Full-extension runners. Blum Tandem plus Blumotion concealed runners (Blum #563H), so you can pull a drawer right out and reach the back easily.
• Blum soft-close hinges. Compact Clip concealed hinges with Quick-Release and Blumotion soft-close, six-way adjustable and opening to 110 degrees. Quick-release lets you lift a door off without tools, and the six-way adjustment is how an installer brings the gaps into line along a run. Blum publishes the detail on its soft-close hinge systems.
• Five-piece drawer fronts carrying the same molded detail as the doors, so a run of drawers matches the cabinet fronts above and beside it.
• Plywood toe kick. Base and tall cabinets are built with a 1/2 by 4 1/2 inch plywood toe kick, with matching 8-foot lengths available to finish the run.

Picking a Finish

Fusion is where the grays live, and having all three in one place makes the choice much easier. Gray is the hardest cabinet color to judge from a photograph, because undertone only shows itself next to another material, so being able to order all three samples together is genuinely useful.

Nickel is a clean mid gray, cool without turning blue. It works with white and gray quartz, stainless appliances and polished nickel hardware.

Stone is warmer and leans greige. It sits comfortably with cream and beige-veined counters, wood floors and brass hardware, and it is the pick for a room with warm natural light.

Oyster is the palest of the three, closer to a warm off-white with a gray cast. It suits bright kitchens, marble-look stone and mixed metals.

Beyond the grays, Kona is the darkest stain in the Allure range, a deep coffee brown that looks rich against pale stone, and Timber is a warm mid-brown oak.
