7-1/2" Cabinet Pulls
A 7-1/2" pull has 192 mm between its screw holes, the length that fits a 24" base drawer by the 1/3 rule. It is a strong choice for pot drawers, trash pullouts and wide vanity drawers. All of these pulls are Richelieu hardware, packed with screws sized for 3/4" fronts.

The Right Pull for 24 Inch Drawers
Base cabinet drawers do the heavy lifting in a kitchen, and a 7-1/2" pull gives them a grip to match. Deep pot drawers and trash pullouts hold real weight, and a longer bar lets you pull with your whole hand instead of two fingers. On a 24" drawer front the length looks balanced, with roughly 8" of open front on each side.
In metric, 192 mm is six steps of the 32 mm system and converts to 7.56", which is why you will sometimes see the same size labeled 7-9/16". Designs here range from traditional arched pulls to modern bars and edge pulls, including a white edge pull, in brushed and antique nickel, oil-rubbed bronze, chrome, polished nickel, matte black and champagne bronze.
Drawers and doors that suit 7-1/2"
By the 1/3 rule, 7-1/2" pulls fit drawers about 21" to 27" wide. That covers the 24" base drawer stack, the trash pullout and many vanity drawers. On doors, use this length on tall pantry and oven cabinet doors, or on any door where a short pull looks small. Mount it vertically on the stile opposite the hinge so it is easy to reach.
Is 7-1/2" too long for upper cabinets?
On standard wall doors it can look heavy, so most kitchens use 3-3/4" or 5" on the uppers and save 7-1/2" for the base drawers. If the wall doors are tall and slim, as on Fabuwood Allure Galaxy Frost cabinets stacked to the ceiling, a 7-1/2" pull mounted vertically keeps the line long and clean. Use one design across both sizes.
Replacing 7-1/2" hardware
Old pulls labeled 7-1/2", 7-9/16" or 192 mm all share the same holes. Measure center to center; if you get about 7-1/2", any pull here fits. Readings of 7-1/8" (181 mm) or 8" (203 mm) are separate sizes, so keep them apart when you order. Swapping an arched pull for a slim bar with the same spacing is an easy update.
Finishes for wide drawers
A 7-1/2" bar is long enough that its finish shapes the look of the whole base run. Brushed nickel on cream Galaxy Linen is calm and classic. Matte black over the warm grain of Galaxy Natural Oak gives a crisp modern contrast. Oil-rubbed bronze or champagne bronze on deep Galaxy Sage Green cabinets looks rich and warm.
7-1/2 Inch Pull Questions
What size pull for a 24 inch drawer?
7-1/2" (192 mm). It is about one third of the drawer width, the proportion most designers aim for. A 6-1/4" pull works if you prefer a lighter look, and two 3-3/4" pulls suit a traditional kitchen.
How long is a 7-1/2" pull overall?
Usually about 8" to 9" end to end, though some decorative and edge styles run longer. The overall length is listed in each product's details, so you can confirm it fits a drawer with a narrow frame or a decorative edge before you drill.
One pull or two on a 30" drawer?
One pull is the modern choice. A single 7-1/2" pull still looks fine on a 30" drawer, or step up to 10" for an exact 1/3 fit. Two smaller pulls, each set about a quarter of the way in from the ends, suit traditional cabinets.
Do 7-1/2" pulls work in a bathroom?
Yes, on wide vanities. A 36" or 48" vanity often has drawers 24" across or more, which is right for this size. Match the finish to the faucet and towel bars, and use the same design in a shorter length on the vanity doors.
