Fabuwood Quest Spec Book 2026: PDF and Buyer's Guide

The Fabuwood Quest spec book is Fabuwood's 62-page specifications guide for the Quest series, and you can download the 2026 PDF below. It lists every Quest cabinet code with its size, the Metro and Discovery door styles, the construction specs, modifications and accessories. This guide walks through each section so you can find a code quickly and order with confidence.

What Is in the Fabuwood Quest Spec Book

The 2026 edition is version V.07.28.26 and is marked valid through September 2026. The front section uses roman numeral page numbers (II to XVI) and the cabinet catalog is numbered 1 to 45. The page numbers below are the printed ones.

The book notes that Fabuwood's digital spec book may carry updates this PDF does not. If a code matters to your layout, send it to us and we will confirm it is current before you order.

Door Styles and Finishes Covered

Quest is a focused line with two door styles and three finishes. Both doors are traditional overlay, built with mortise and tenon joints and paired with a 5-piece recessed panel drawer front that matches the door edge.

Mist and Java are marked with the book's finish disclaimer for stained finishes: because of the wood and the finishing process, some color variation is normal. Frost is the one color offered in both door styles, and the paint, spray can and touch up kit on page 38 are listed in Frost.

The sample codes on page VIII follow the door and finish: SDMF is Metro Frost, SDMM is Metro Mist, SDMJ is Metro Java and SDDF is Discovery Frost. The -2 and -3 suffixes add a drawer front, and -3 is the new medium size.

Before you plan, note that microwave wall cabinets (MW3030, MW3036, MW3042) have been discontinued from Quest and are available in limited quantities while supplies last. ADA cabinets have been discontinued from Discovery Frost, also with limited quantities remaining.

Quest Construction and Specifications

Pages IV and V give these construction numbers:

• Cabinet box: 1/2" veneered plywood sides, back, top and bottom with natural finished interiors. Backs are stapled and screwed into place for extra support.
• Face frame: 3/4" x 1-1/2" solid wood stiles and rails joined with glue and dowels. The back of the frame is grooved to accept the side panels.
• Doors and drawer fronts: 5-piece construction with an MDF recessed center panel captured in a 3/4" solid wood frame, mortise and tenon joints, standard overlay.
• Drawer boxes: 5/8" thick solid wood dovetail drawer box with a 3/8" plywood bottom.
• Drawer runners: Blum Tandem plus Blumotion (#554H5330B01) concealed runners with 80% extension.
• Hinges: Blum Compact Blumotion (#38N355B.06) concealed hinges, six-way adjustable, with the soft-close mechanism built in.
• Shelves: 15mm (5/8") select veneered plywood with matching wood edge banding, set on plastic self-locking shelf clips. The base cabinet shelf is 11-7/8" deep.
• Toe kick: 3/4" x 4-1/2" plywood toe kick on each assembled base and tall cabinet, with extra 8-foot lengths of 1/4" toe kick available in matching colors.
• Panel beams: 2-1/2" x 1/2" plywood panel beams set into a dovetail groove at the top of each base cabinet, which keeps the side straight and supports the countertop.

Exposed sides are chosen when you order. You select Right, Left or Both, and Fabuwood applies a 1/4" MDF panel to that side for a near flush finished end.

On warranty, page VI states that Quest cabinets purchased on or after October 1, 2024 carry Fabuwood's Limited Lifetime Warranty for the first residential purchaser, for as long as they own the home. Quest cabinets bought before that date fall under the Limited 5-Year Warranty.

How to Read Quest Cabinet Codes

Quest codes start with letters for the cabinet type, then the width in inches, then the height where it varies. A W3036 is a wall cabinet 30" wide and 36" high. A B18 is a base cabinet 18" wide. When a third number appears on a wall or tall cabinet, it is the depth or height that changes from standard, as in W361524 or TP182490.

Standard sizes by category, straight from the catalog pages:

• Wall cabinets: 12" deep, in 12, 15, 18, 24, 30, 36 and 42 inch heights. The 24" deep versions come in 15, 18 and 24 inch heights.
• Base cabinets: 34-1/2" high and 24" deep, from B09 to B42. The B39 and B42 have a 3" center stile.
• Tall pantries: 24" deep in 15, 18 and 24 inch widths and 84, 90 and 96 inch heights. The 84" pantry has 5 shelves, the 90" and 96" have 6, and shelves are 18" deep.
• Vanities: 34-1/2" high and 21" deep.
• ADA cabinets: 32-1/2" high with a 4-1/2" toe kick.

Modifications and Accessories

Pages XIV and XV list the modifications Fabuwood offers on Quest. The most requested groups:

• Depth cuts: CUT-BASE and CUT-DBASE (minimum depth 12"), CUT-SBASE, CUT-WALL and CUT-TALL (no minimum).
• Height and toe kick: CUT-BASE HEIGHT removes the top drawer for a 28-1/2" total height, CUT-TK reduces toe kick height, RECESS-TK and FLUSH-TOE KICK change the toe kick position, and ATTACH-TK adds a toe kick to a wall cabinet.
• Glass prep: CUT-DOOR cuts out the door's center panel for a glass insert, glass not included.
• Pipe chases: CHASE-BASE, CHASE-DBASE, CHASE-WALL, CHASE-TALL and CHASE-CORNER. A drawing is required.
• Depth increases: INCREASE-BASE, INCREASE-WALL and INCREASE-TALL.
• Conversions: PEN-CABINET builds a peninsula from two cabinets, FULL-DOORS creates a full height door base, CREATE-BMC makes a base microwave cabinet from a drawer base and CREATE-BOC makes a base oven cabinet.
• Interior and finish: MATCH-INTERIOR, CHOOSE-INTERIOR, EDGE BAND and CREATE-SQ BOTTOM (a square bottom for light rail molding).

Accessories run from page 22 to 32. Trash pull-outs (TC15 BLUM to TC21 BLUM, and the TC15FHD BLUM to TC21FHD BLUM for full height door bases) use Blum full extension runners. Roll outs are ROD-B15 BLUM E through ROD-B36 BLUM E, sold per drawer. You will also find spice, utensil and knife pull-outs (SPO, UPO, UKBPO), a 2-tier cutlery drawer (DCD-15 BLUM to DCD-36 BLUM), a charging drawer (CHD-B18 BLUM), wall lazy susans in plastic or wood (LSP24, LSW24), tilt out trays and vanity organizers such as VOPO-24 BLUM.

Trim is on pages 33 to 37: wall and tall fillers (WF330 to WF642, TF396, TF696), base fillers BF3 and BF6, the VST96 valance, 8-foot moldings including CM-1 small crown, SM8 scribe, QRM quarter round, BM3/4 batten and TK8 toe kick, dishwasher and refrigerator end panels (DWR and REP codes, including REP2496), and 48" x 96" PAN-1/4, PLY-1/2 and PLY-3/4 sheets. Lighting codes on pages 39 to 41 cover LED W09 to LED W39 under-cabinet bars with a 2700-5000K range, which need the LED DRIVER, LED MESH CONNECTOR and a switch ordered separately.

How to Use the Spec Book When You Order

2. Build your list by code. Work wall by wall with the PDF above open, writing the exact code for each box: W3036, B18, DB24, SB36 and so on. Note which sides are exposed so the finished ends are right.

3. Add fillers, panels and toe kick. Blind corners require fillers, and exposed ends and appliances usually need panels. Our guide to fillers, panels and toe kicks covers what most lists are missing.

4. Confirm the color. We recommend you order door samples before placing a full order, especially for the stained Mist and Java finishes where some variation is normal.
