Fabuwood Illume Spec Book 2026: PDF and Buyer's Guide

The Fabuwood Illume spec book is Fabuwood's 95-page specifications guide for Illume, one of its frameless lines, and you can download the 2026 PDF below. It lists every Catalina and Tuscany color, the box and hardware specs, each cabinet code with its dimensions, and the modifications and accessories you can add. This guide shows what is on each page and how to turn it into an accurate order.

What Is in the Fabuwood Illume Spec Book

This edition is version V.07.29.26, and the cover marks it valid through September 2026. The page numbers below are the ones printed on each page. The front section runs in Roman numerals, then the cabinet catalog starts again at page 1.

Fabuwood notes on page II that the printed book can trail its online digital spec book, so send us any very new code and we will confirm it.

Door Styles and Finishes Covered

Illume comes in two door styles. Catalina is a full overlay slab door with matching slab drawer fronts. Tuscany is a full overlay 5-piece door with matching 5-piece drawer fronts. Both are Euro overlay doors on a frameless box, and the book notes that wood grain textures are not pattern matched from one door to the next.

Page VI explains the three finish types. Gloss is an 18mm MDF board with a UV-dried high gloss lacquer top coat that the book calls highly scratch-resistant. Matte is 18mm MDF with a UV-cured matte lacquer, a soft silk touch surface, anti-fingerprint properties and self-repairing micro-scratches. Textured is 18mm Engineered Furniture Board (EFB) with a resin coating that gives a realistic wood grain relief.

Catalina carries the widest range. Tuscany comes in textured wood looks and matte solids. Our high gloss vs matte guide helps if you are deciding on sheen.

Construction and Specifications

Illume is a frameless line, like Ovela, so there is no face frame and the full overlay doors cover the front of the box. Our frameless vs framed guide explains the difference. Pages IV and V spell out the build:

Heights in the book are measured before the included feet are attached, so a 30" base sits taller once leveled. The Lazy Susan, Easy Reach and wall pie cut corners do not have the soft-close mechanism. Fronts ship with a protective film that Fabuwood recommends leaving on until construction is finished.

Any Illume customization is built at Fabuwood's Newark facility and does not use the Threespine Click construction. The page 42 heat shield matters too: the book requires the HEAT SHIELD WHITE (1/16" powder-coated steel, ordered in a quantity of two) on cabinets on either side of a heating appliance such as a range, and Fabuwood will not warranty Illume cabinetry installed without it.

Illume carries Fabuwood's Limited Lifetime Warranty for the first residential purchaser, for as long as they own the home, covering defects in material and workmanship under normal residential use. The warranty text on page VIII notes it does not cover Blum hinges or other third-party accessories, and that the home needs year-round climate control.

How to Read the Cabinet Codes

Illume codes are letters for the cabinet type, then width, then height, with depth added when it differs from standard. Standard wall cabinets are 13" deep and come in 12", 15", 18", 21", 24", 30", 36", 39" and 42" heights. Base cabinets are 24" deep and 30" high before the feet, vanities are 21" deep and 30" high, and tall pantries and oven cabinets come in 84", 90", 93" and 96" heights.

The suffixes do most of the work. FD means a full height door with no drawer, SD means a single door on a width that is normally two doors, and -2, -3 or -4 is the number of drawers. LU marks a lift-up wall cabinet. Tall pantry codes read width, depth, height, so TP181384 is 18" wide, 13" deep and 84" high. Oven cabinets end in S-3 (single oven, three drawers), C (combo, two drawers) or D (double oven, one drawer).

Single door cabinets and blind corners need a hinge or blind side noted at order. Blind corners also need a filler on the adjacent side, not included.

Modifications and Accessories

Pages XXIII and XXIV list the modification codes. Cut items include depth reductions (CUT-BASE, CUT-DBASE, CUT-SBASE, CUT-WALL, CUT-TALL), width reductions (CUT WIDTH-BASE, CUT WIDTH-WALL, CUT WIDTH-TALL), CUT-BASE HEIGHT, which removes the top drawer, and CUT 2" FROM 96" MOLDING. Width cuts and CUT-PANEL are not available on the Designer's Collection. Pipe chase codes (CHASE-BASE, CHASE-WALL and others) require a drawing.

The customization list is where Illume gets flexible:

• PUSH TO OPEN DOORS / DRAWERS: Blum Tip-On for handle-free fronts
• INCREASE-BASE, INCREASE-WALL, INCREASE-TALL: added depth
• FINISHED END-BASE / WALL / TALL: laminate skin on an exposed side
• MATCH-INTERIOR: interior finished to match the exterior
• EXTENDED DOOR: doors overhang 1-1/2" or 3/4" below the box
• TK DRAWER, HAMPER, CREATE-BMC, CREATE-BOC: toe kick drawer, pull-out hamper, base microwave or base oven conversions

Accessories are sold separately and end in ILLUME, such as ROD-B24 ILLUME roll-outs, SPO-B9 ILLUME spice pull-outs, the MLU-B18 ILLUME mixer lift (B18FD only) and TC18 ILLUME trash pull-outs. FLS floating shelves come in Timber, Walnut, Black Matte and White Matte.

For trim, the book lists fillers (WF330, TF396, BF3, OLF overlay fillers), end panels (BEP, REP2596), dishwasher returns (DWR3), wainscot panels in the door profile, TK8-3/4 toe kick, LRM light rail and VST-6 valance. Pages 59 to 64 cover the metal glass door program, coded IDMG plus the metal finish and cabinet, for example IDMG-BLK W1830 for an Onyx Black Matte glass door on a W1830.

How to Use the Spec Book When You Order

Start with measurements. Record wall lengths, ceiling height, windows, plumbing and appliances. Our kitchen measuring guide walks through it.

Build your list by code. Work wall by wall and write the exact code for each cabinet, with R or L where the book asks for it. The height alignment guide on pages 66 to 68 helps you pick wall heights that line up with an 84", 90" or 96" tall pantry.

Add fillers, panels and toe kick. Illume ships with adjustable feet, so plan the TK8-3/4 toe kick along with fillers beside blind corners and end panels on exposed sides. Add heat shields for the cabinets beside your range. Our fillers, panels and toe kick guide covers what to include.

Confirm the color. Gloss, matte and textured finishes look different in person, so we recommend you order door samples of your top picks before placing the full order.
