Ovela Door Styles and Finishes Covered
Ovela has two door styles, both listed under the Designer's Collection. Each uses full overlay doors and drawer fronts on a frameless box (the book calls it Euro overlay), Blum clip-on hinges with Blumotion soft-close (Blum model 71B358E) and Tandem plus Blumotion concealed drawer runners.
Catalina
Catalina is a full overlay slab door with matching slab drawer fronts: one flat panel with no frame. It comes in 50 finishes across gloss, matte and textured. Our slab and flat panel cabinets guide covers how to plan a kitchen around that look.
Tuscany
Tuscany is a full overlay 5-piece door with matching 5-piece drawer fronts, so each door has a frame around a center panel while the box stays frameless. It comes in 28 finishes, textured and matte only.

Page 5 explains what sits under each color. Gloss fronts are 18mm MDF pressed with a resin-infused decorative paper and topped with a UV-dried high gloss lacquer that the book rates highly scratch-resistant. Matte fronts are 18mm MDF with a UV-cured matte lacquer described as anti-fingerprint and self-repairing for superficial micro-scratches. Textured fronts are 18mm Engineered Furniture Board (EFB) with a resin coating that gives the wood looks real relief. Wood grain textures are not pattern matched from door to drawer.
Sample doors come in three sizes. The large sample with drawer front uses codes like SDICBG (Catalina Bianco Gloss) and SDIT COMO ASH 1 (Tuscany Como Ash 1). A "-2" code is the 11-1/2" x 14" small sample and "-3" is the 11-1/2" x 20" medium.
Ovela Construction and Specifications
Pages 3 and 4 cover the box. Ovela is frameless, built with 3/4" plywood sides, top and bottom and a 1/2" plywood back grooved into the side panels. Interiors are finished in matching veneers with 3/4" edge-banding, and base cabinets get 5" wide stretchers front and rear. - Depths: base cabinets are 24" deep with 23-3/8" inside; wall cabinets are 13" deep with 12-3/4" inside.
- Hinges: Blum concealed clip-on with Blumotion soft-close and quick-release, six-way adjustable, opening to 110 degrees. Lazy Susan, Easy Reach and wall pie cut cabinets use hinges without soft-close.
- Drawers: 5/8" solid wood dovetail box, 3/8" plywood bottom, Tandem plus Blumotion full extension soft-close runners, 75 lb dynamic load, 4" interior clearance height.
- Shelves: 3/4" veneered plywood with matching edge banding on metal shelf clips. Each cabinet page lists its shelf count and depth.
- Toe kick: a recessed 3/4" plywood toe kick built into the base. Tall pantries and base corner cabinets ship with a separate 4-1/2" high platform.
- Details: rubber bumpers on doors and drawers, and a protective film on all fronts that Fabuwood recommends leaving on until job site work is finished.
Page 6 lays out Fabuwood's Q12 standards, including the EZ level drawer front system. Page 7 is the Limited Lifetime Warranty. It covers Ovela bought through an authorized Fabuwood dealer by the first residential purchaser in the United States or Canada for as long as they own the home. It covers the cabinet parts Fabuwood supplies; Blum hinges and third-party accessories fall outside it. Claims go through the dealer you bought from, so if you order here, we handle it with Fabuwood.
If your kitchen has a range, add the HEAT SHIELD WHITE from page 63. It is 1/16" powder-coated steel, ordered in a quantity of 2, and the book lists it as required on cabinets beside a heating appliance for the warranty to apply.
How to Read Ovela Cabinet Codes
Ovela codes are a letter prefix for the cabinet type followed by sizes in inches. Wall codes give width then height, so W3036 is 30" wide and 36" high. A six-digit wall code adds depth: W362424 is 36" wide, 24" high and 24" deep. Tall pantries go width, depth, height, so TP181384 is 18" wide, 13" deep and 84" high.
Wall cabinets are 13" deep, 12 to 24" high for short uppers and 30, 36, 39 or 42" high for full uppers. Base cabinets are 34-1/2" high and 24" deep, vanities are 34-1/2" high and 21" deep, and tall and oven cabinets come in 84, 90, 93 and 96" heights with the 4-1/2" platform included.
SD marks a single door version of a 24" cabinet (W2430SD, B24SD). FD means a full height door with no top drawer (B18FD). The number after a dash on drawer bases is the drawer count. On oven cabinets, S-3 is a single oven with three drawers below, C is a combo and D is a double oven. LU marks a lift-up wall cabinet.

Other prefixes: WDC and WPC are wall diagonal and pie cut corners, MC is a microwave wall cabinet (MC303621 is 30" wide, 36" high, 21" deep), WR is a wine rack, and BMC, BOC and RTB are base microwave, base oven and range top bases.
Ovela Modifications and Accessories
Pages 20 and 21 list the modifications. CUT-BASE, CUT-WALL, CUT-TALL, CUT-SBASE and CUT-DBASE reduce depth, and INCREASE-BASE, INCREASE-WALL and INCREASE-TALL add it. CUT-BASE HEIGHT lowers a base by removing the top drawer. Width cuts and CUT-PANEL are marked as not available for the Ovela Designer Collection, so plan widths from the standard sizes and fillers. Pipe chases need a drawing.
PUSH TO OPEN DOORS and PUSH TO OPEN DRAWERS add Blum Tip-On hardware for a handle-free front. FINISHED END-BASE, -WALL and -TALL apply a laminate skin to an exposed side, MATCH-INTERIOR finishes the inside to match the outside, EXTENDED DOOR drops a door 3/4" or 1-1/2" below the box, and FLUSH-TOE KICK brings the toe kick flush with the cabinet front.
For trim, the book lists fillers (WF, TF, BF), overlay fillers (OLF), corner fillers (CF), columns (CLM), end panels (WEP, BEP, VBEP, REP), 3/4" MDF panels (PAN-3/4), peel-and-stick finished end skins (SK) and wainscot panels (WP) in the door profile. The 8' moldings are TK8-3/4 toe kick, LRM light rail, STRM-8 starter and VST-6 valance.
Accessories include Blum-slide waste pull-outs (OTC codes), roll out drawers (OROD), cutlery inserts (CD-S, CD-L, CD-XL), a charging drawer (OCHD-B18 BLUM) and floating shelves from 24" to 60", with LED versions. Vanity tops (VT24 to VT60) come in Cloud, Moonstone, Desert Silver and Miami Vena with an integrated sink. The metal glass door program prefixes a wall code with a finish, so IDMG-BLK W1830 is an Onyx Black Matte glass door for a W1830.
How to Use the Ovela Spec Book When You Order
- Measure first. Follow our guide on how to measure your kitchen for cabinets, then check the height alignment pages (88 to 92) for your 84, 90, 93 or 96" line.
- Build your list by code. Write each cabinet as the book prints it, add R or L where noted, and include the filler each blind corner calls for.
